Thomas and my cousin Kealan~ who flew in just for the communion and than flew back the next day~ Thank you again Kealan! That was a great surprise!!
Everyone (but Thomas) waiting to swing!
Goofy picture...my brothers Matthew and Michael, Mike's girlfriend Sara, Jonathan and Thomas
Thomas feeding some deer. It was cute ~ he was explaining to the deer that they had to share. Each deer was allowed one piece at a time (Thomas' rules)..they all kept trying to get the carrots and they weren't listening to him! It was very cute listening to Thomas ~ he sounded like a teacher!
After Jonathan's communion..Thomas REALLY loves his big brother!
Birthday cake:-)
Uncle Mike and Thomas
Jonathan and Thomas before the communion
Thomas loves his new Handy Manny table!
Thomas, Jonathan and Uncle Mitch who came in from Virginia (along with my Aunt Rose and cousin Kealan)for Jonathan's communion
Thomas and some of his birthday presents. he had a very hard time waiting to open them.
Thomas getting his haircut...Ms Laura was asking how much I wanted cut and he chimed in with "just a litte bit".
Its been awhile since I have last updated...sorry! Not much new has been happening. Thomas continues his speech therapy every Tuesday with our private SLP, on Monday's he has a session with his new TOD (she is AWESOME and she and our SLP "know" each other already...Brit (TOD) has a few students who also have therapy with Lindsay (private SLP) ~ I do have to say that the communication notebook is essential. Its a great way for everyone involved in Thomas' care to know what is going on and what specifically is being worked on.
Wednesday mornings Thomas goes to preschool for a session with the school's SLP. He things he is a pretty big deal now...going to "school" two days a week. Although this Fall his preschool will be in a different building (that's closer to our house..YEAH) I am hoping that it won't be that much of a transition ~ with him going a few days now it won't be that bad when he starts going every day.
We have been working on emphasizing the ends of words...specifically "p" and "t". The school's SLP gives him homework every Wednesday which is due the next week. We have also been playing regular preschool games (duck, duck, goose! red light/green light, etc), we have been reading books like crazy!!! Its usually a few books during the day and than atleast 4 at bedtime. We have had to move bath time up to accommodate the increase in books. I don't mind at all ~ Thomas really seems to be understanding the stories and the few books that he REALLY likes (that are read atleast once a day) I will leave bits out or ask him what comes next and 9 times out of 10 he can tell me.
These past few weeks have been busy ~ Thomas' birthday, Jonathan's communion, my brothers birthday, Mothers Day, Hubby's birthday...my Mom is having surgery this friday so she will be off of work all next week. Shame on me for hoping she is feeling better enough in a few days afterwards so she can watch the kids for a day (or two). We'll see if she is up for it. I know that Jim and I would really like a little getaway.
My brother graduates from college next week, than memorial day, mother in laws birthday..a few weeks of peace and than my Mommy night out with one of my best friends for the New Kids concert! I am soooo looking forward to spending the day with Jen, just hanging out (sans kids) enjoying a few drinks and than dinner and than the concert! I love my children with all of my heart and soul but I need a night out to unwind!!
I have so many pictures from the past few weeks...i will pick a few to share~
ENJOY!
Also, I hope all of my blog Mommy Friends had a wonderful Mother's Day ~ each and everyone of you deserves it!!!
